Adventure motorcycle based on the Kawasaki Z250 will be unveiled in 2015, say web reports.
Small capacity adventure bikes are witnessing a steady increase in demand and local and international bike manufacturers alike are developing smaller models to get into these relatively unoccupied parts of the market. The latest to join the fray is Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki, which is reportedly developing an adventure sports bike based on the Z250 naked street bike.
A new rendering has appeared on the internet which gives hints on the upcoming model’s styling. The new model will likely be called the Kawasaki Versys 250 and as seen from the rendering, mirrors the design of Kawasaki’s bigger adventure sport bikes, the Versys 650 and Versys 1000.
It will be based on the same diamond framework as that of the Z250, and flaunt twin headlamps and an underbelly exhaust. Feature wise, it's likely to get all the bells and whistles expected of an adventure bike like upside down forks at the front and monoshock at the rear, a bigger windscreen and a comfortable seat.
Powering the Versys 250 will be the same engine found in the Kawasaki Z250. That means a 249 cc, 8-valve, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, twin-cylinder engine will propel the motorcycle. Power figures will be close to the naked bike, which develops 32 PS and 21 Nm of torque. The engine will transfer the power to the tarmac via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The bike is expected to hit markets next year with the reveal possible in Indonesia this year, claim web reports.
