Honda’s first high performance tourer motorcycle made in India.
At the Honda RevFest, the company has finally launched the Honda CBR 650F, after it was first revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Honda CBR 650F is priced at INR 7.3 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), and will be available exclusively at the new Wing World dealerships across 12 cities (New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Indore, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kochi, Lucknow and Bhubaneswar).
Honda’s middleweight motorcycle is built around a Twin-Spar steel frame. The CBR 650F measures 2,110 mm long, 755 mm wide, 1,145 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 1,450 mm. The suspension system employs a 41 mm telescopic fork up front and a swingarm monoshock strut at the rear.
Stopping power comes from a pair of 320 mm twin-piston caliper disc at the front and a 240 mm single-piston caliper disc at the rear. An ABS system is also offered as standard.
The Honda CBR650F is powered by a 649 cc DOHC four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 87 PS at 11,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission.
The CBR 650F will be assembled with CKD kits at Honda’s plant in Manesar, although parts localization will only be roughly 5 percent. According to reports, the assembly of the motorcycle would initially be limited to 2 units per day, and only one body color option would be available: the red, white and blue tri-color exterior paint.
