Ford India today confirmed that the Ford Figo Aspire will launch on August 12. The compact sedan's bookings opened on July 27 for a token amount of INR 30,000.
To launch with two petrol and a diesel engine, it is the first vehicle to be manufactured at the Ford India's second manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat, that was inaugurated in March.

Powering the Figo Aspire is a new 1.2-liter, the current 1.5-liter Ti-VCT petrol engine and the tried and the 1.5-liter Duratorq diesel engine. While petrol engines pair to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed Powershift dual clutch transmission, the diesel engine will be available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 6-speed autobox comes exclusively with the 1.5-liter petrol engine.
The ARAI certified mileage for the Aspire is 18.16 km/l for the 1.2L, 17 km/l for the 1.5L AT and 25.83 km/l for the 1.5L diesel. The car will launch in Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ trims.

Segment-first features on the Aspire include 6 airbags, ESP, and dual-clutch transmission. Other features include ABS and EBD, Ford’s SYNC with AppLink infotainment system with Voice Commands, MyFord Dock (on low-end variants), Ford MyKey that allows the restriction of top-speed and music volume, automatic climate control, electric power steering, height adjustable seat belts, leather seats, 14-inch alloy wheels, and ESP & Hill Launch Assist in the automatic transmission variant.
