CMF-based 2016 Renault Megane to get mature styling – Rendering

Will draw cues from new Renault Espace and Renault Talisman.
Based on spyshots of pre-production test mules, Autocar UK has posted a render of the 2016 Renault Megane, which sports a mature styling that draws cues from the Renault Espace and Renault Talisman.
This is a departure from the heavily stylized and sporty design of the outgoing model. Renault believes that the upmarket move will help them compete against the VW Golf and Peugeot 308. It will also get improved interior and build quality, and could feature a large infotainment touchscreen display that integrates most of the interior functions into the system, thereby reducing button count significantly.
The next generation model will be based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF architecture (CMF-CD) that also underpins the new Nissan Pulsar. Switching from the outgoing model’s C-Platform to the CMF will not only keep manufacturing costs competitive for Renault, but also helps shed weight from the outgoing model.
The 2016 Renault Megane will make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, as confirmed to IAB by Laurens Van Den Acker, Senior Vice President, Corporate Design, Renault. It is expected to go on sale across Europe early next year.
