PT. Benelli Motor Indonesia has the put the Benelli TNT 25 on exhibit at the IIMS 2015 (Indonesia International Motor Show 2015). The motorcycle was showcased in India this year, and confirmed for a launch.
The motorcycle, which is India-bound, will be the new entry level motorcycle from DSK-Benelli, sitting beneath the Benelli TNT 302. The TNT 25 will be powered by a 249.2 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out 24.1 hp @ 9000 rpm and 20.59 Nm @ 7,000 rpm, paired to a six-speed gearbox.
The bike is retarded by a 280 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the stern. While the rear wheel is held in place by a box section unit and monoshock suspension, the front gets USD forks. The bike comes with a 16-liter fuel tank and weighs 150 kg, which is significantly more than the KTM Duke 200 which is a mere 136.4 kg.
Benelli is expected to launch the TNT 25 around Diwali, which is in November. The bike will almost certainly be available through the CKD route which DSK-Benelli uses for a good part of their offerings.
Pricing will likely be higher than the KTM Duke 200 which is manufactured locally. Once launched, the Benelli TNT 25 will be in direct competition with the Honda CBR250R and the upcoming Hero HX250R.
