Is more than a sticker change.
The Hero Splendor range has some of the best-selling bikes in the country. To protect its market share from rivals, Hero Motocorp is working on the 2016 variant of the Hero Splendor Pro. The bike has been photographed by Gaadiwaadi for the first time, revealing the new features in store.
The bike has received several visual changes beginning with the new squared headlight and an upswept cowl. The profile hosts revised side panels and the fuel tank features a new scooped design. The rear gets redesigned grab rails and taillight, which is now flush with the tail section. The overhauled instrument cluster is a three-piece chrome-lined unit that carries over the side-stand indicator from the current version.
Some other parts have been borrowed from current models in the company’s stable, like the grab rail and silencer heat shield, which have been taken from the HF-Deluxe. The new Splendor also is devoid of a steel luggage carrier while the fuel knob sees the addition of plastic cladding around it.
Though the spyshot shows no evidence, the website reports that the 2016 Hero Splendor Pro could debut Hero’s new 110cc engine which is undergoing testing for the last 3-4 years.
This engine is expected to produce class-leading power and torque with reduced emissions and better fuel efficiency.
The current Splendor Pro starts at INR 46,337 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and the 2016 model is expected to be similarly priced.
