The 2015 Mini John Cooper Works has made its Indonesian premiere at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show (GIIAS 2015). The Mini JCW is a performance-oriented variant of the regular 3-door Mini Cooper.
Compared to the standard Mini Cooper, the Mini JCW features a new front bumper with large air inlets, a special JCW spoiler and 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. It also gets an uprated suspension system for better handling, tuned exhaust system, and exclusive Brembo brakes.
Based on BMW’s UKL platform, it is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin turbo engine which develops 231 hp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Apparently, this is the most powerful engine ever fitted in a series production Mini product.
It is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds with the manual gearbox and 6.1 seconds with the automatic.
The car is priced at IDR 829 million (INR 39.09 lakhs).
