Volvo Auto India today re-launched the petrol variant of the S60 sedan, the S60 T6, in an event in Chennai. The Volvo S60 T6 is priced at INR 42 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi, and like other Volvo cars, is brought in through the CBU (Completely Built up Unit) route.
The S60 T6 is now powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injected engine which develops 306 hp at 5,700 rpm and 400 Nm of torque, and is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels of the sedan. On the previous S60 T6 though, Volvo were offering a 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol engine with power and torque outputs of 304 hp and 440 Nm, with AWD.
The new S60 T6 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and achieves a top-speed of 230 km/h. Its closest competitor in India is the BMW 3 Series 328i, which is also powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged (TwinPower Turbo) four-cylinder petrol engine. However, the 328i is assembled in India through CKD kits.
Standard features on the S60 T6 include electronic climate control, electric sunroof, leather seats, active bending lights with LED daytime running lights, parking assist, a digital TFT instrument cluster, power adjustable seats and a 7-inch infotainment system with DVD, navigation and Bluetooth, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Safety features include a City Safety System (automatic braking at speeds up to 50 km/h), Whiplash protection system, the standard array of dual front and side airbags, ABS and EBD.
The S60 T6 is the fourth launch for Volvo Auto India this calendar year, following the V40 Cross Country petrol, the all-new XC90 and the V40 hatchback.
