Based on a re-engineered version of the Indica platform.
TeamBHP member, 'bansal1987' snapped these images of the Tata Kite (codename) hatchback near Pune, Maharashtra. The prototype seen here is fitted with a production-ready interior, which based on first appearances, looks modern in all aspects.
The short-diameter three-spoke multifunction steering wheel is seen in front of a sculpted instrument dial, while the center console is occupied by rectangular AC vents and a 2-DIN music system which could be supplied by Harman. The A-Pillars of the hatchback sport integrated tweeters, while the wing mirrors are devoid of stalks, suggesting that electric adjustment would be another feature on the Kite.
The upper portion of the dashboard is finished in a black plastic, whereas parts like the glovebox get a beige color as does the door insert. The gearlever seems borrowed from the Bolt/Zest though.
The Kite, as reported earlier, is expected to launch in the second half of this year with all-new three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The latter is expected to be a 1.05-liter unit, while the former would be a 1.2-liter engine. 5-speed manual and automated manual transmissions are expected on the Indica-based hatchback.
