A special edition model focussing on off-road capability.
Suzuki have finally launched the off-road centric special edition of the Grand Vitara in Brazil. Dubbed as the Suzuki Grand Vitara 4Sport, it was first unveiled to the public as a concept at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show. This year, a set of spyshots of the Grand Vitara 4Sport testing added further credence that Suzuki would bring it to the market.
Exclusive features for the Suzuki Grand Vitara 4Sport include a black grille, matte black plastic bumpers, side sills and wheel arches for better protection. The 65 mm increase in ride height comes courtesy of an upgraded suspension system and larger 245/65R17 tires wrapped around dark grey alloy rims.
However, the production-spec model doesn't get an extended intake snorkel, which was fitted in the concept car. Also, customers can only choose between white and silver for the exterior color.
Although the interior hasn't been revealed yet, the only reported change exclusive to the Suzuki Grand Vitara 4Sport is graphite contrast stitching in the leather-wrapped steering wheel. It comes equipped with a 2-DIN music player with steering wheel mounted audio controls, automatic HVAC control, keyless entry, ABS with EBD, and dual airbags.
The Suzuki Grand Vitara 4Sport packs a 2.0-litre petrol engine delivering 140 hp at 6,500 rpm and 186 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It is paired to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, which sends torque to all four wheels via a standard 4WD system.
