A sub-4m version is reportedly under works for India.
According to a report on Auto Evolution, the production version of the Nissan Kicks compact SUV will be the official car of the Olympics 2016, scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro in August next year. The production version would debut roughly two years after the introduction of the Kicks concept at the 2014 edition of the Sao Paulo Motor Show.
Designed by Nissan Design America (NDA) in San Diego, United States, and Nissan Design America Rio (NDA-R), the Kicks is expected to be based on the V-Platform, which also underpins the Nissan Sunny and Micra.
The concept had dimensions of 4,300 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height and featured 19-inch alloy wheels with a 'floating' C-Pillar. Local media reports expect the compact SUV to be powered by flex-fuel engines with displacement of up to 2.0-liters, and with AWD capability.
