Maserati today announced its re-entry to the Indian market, citing "significant potential" for the brand in India, in line with its growth strategy. Maserati will operate out of FCAI (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India), though it will establish new sales and service outlets.
In the third quarter of 2015, Maserati plans on opening showrooms in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. AMP Supercars Pvt. Ltd., Bagga Luxury Motorcars LLP and Jubilant Autoworks Pvt. Ltd. will represent the brand in these cities respectively.
Maserati also announced that it will appoint Mr. Bojan Jankulovski as head of operations for India. Under his lead, the luxury and sports car maker has established itself in five markets in the Middle East and South East Asia. Umberto Maria Cini will be the Managing Director for Maserati Middle East, India and Africa.
The Maserati Ghibli is priced from INR 1.1 crores onwards, for the diesel model, while the Quattroporte costs INR 1.5 crores for the diesel and INR 2.2 crores for the GTS. The Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio cost INR 1.8 crores and 2 crores respectively. All prices mentioned are ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
Globally, Maserati will introduce an SUV, the Levante, in 2016, which will also come to India, the brand confirmed.
