The coupe is expected to be badged the Lexus LC, and will take design inspiration from the Lexus LF-LC concept, which was shown at the 2012 edition of the NAIAS (2012 Detroit Motor Show). Obviously, it will have the S Class Coupe in sight, which will be launched in India later this month.
The 2017 Lexus LS and the Lexus LC Coupe will be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine with as much as 500 hp on tap. A hybrid variant with a V6 engine is also reported to be in the making.
Multiple reports have suggested that Toyota is keen on launching the Lexus brand in India. If the brand is introduced, the LS would serve as a brand-shaping, flagship tool, and would naturally rival its German counterparts, the Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8.
