Honda of America have just revealed the 2016 Accord (facelift) in Silicon Valley, ahead of a market launch scheduled to take place in August this year.
On the outside, the 2016 Accord gets new headlight and taillight clusters, a more sculpted aluminium hood, optional 19-inch alloy wheels and redesigned front and rear bumpers. Upping the tech, the Accord can now be had with LED headlights, LED foglights and LED taillights.
The major update inside is the addition of a 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto support. Features have been rejigged across the line-up, while feature additions include rain-sensing wipers, heated rear seats and 60:40 split folding rear seats.
For the American market, the Accord will continue with the 2.4-liter direct-injected i-VTEC engine, and a 3.5-liter V6, paired to CVT (2.4L), a 6-speed manual (2.4L and 3.5L) or a 6-speed automatic transmission (3.5L). Details on the Accord Hybrid will be announced later.
For the Indian market, Honda Cars India will reportedly re-launch the Accord next calendar year, in petrol and hybrid guises. The sedan will rival the Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid primarily, which recently received its midlife facelift in the Indian market.
