Only cosmetic and suspension upgrades.
For the 2016 BMW X1, the company will offer customers various packages for better personalization, one of them being the M Sport package. Spyshots have revealed one such unit outfitted with the body kit fully undisguised for the first time since its unveil on June 3.
The M Sport pack for the 2016 BMW X1 is designed around the aggressive character of an M Division model. Up front, the 2016 BMW X1 M Sport gets a large BMW kidney grille with black slats, and larger air inlets in the lower fascia. It also gets body-colored bumpers, side extensions, wheel arches as well as an M-Sport 5-spoke 18/19-inch two-tone light-alloy wheels.
The exclusive M-Sport features continue to be seen inside as well, which features a leather-wrapped M steering wheel, special aluminum trim, sports seats, and roof lining in anthracite. It also gets a dual zone HVAC system, PDC (Park Distance Control) at the rear, and speed control with braking function.
As with any M Sport package, there are M badges all over the car, as seen on the steering wheel, gear knob, foot rest, and the exterior front wing.
In terms of mechanical changes, BMW has tuned the M Sport suspension, which lowers the X1 by 10 millimeters, thus improving the presence of the new X1. However, there are no engine upgrades reported so far. The M Sport package can be added to any one of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol- or diesel-powered variants, whose output ranges from 150-231 hp.

Adding the M Sport pack to the X1 will cost an extra 4,100-5,200 euros (INR 2.83 lakhs to 3.59 lakhs), depending on the variant chosen. The 2016 BMW X1 will break cover at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, followed by a local (Germany) launch in October.
We expect the 2016 BMW X1 to launch in India in the first half of 2016.
