Gets 6 airbags as standard.
Honda has just announced the all-new Jazz for the European market, replacing the second generation Jazz which was sold with 1.2- and 1.4-liter petrol engines, and a 1.3-liter Hybrid. The third generation Jazz, which also went on sale in India this month, gets a host of features exclusive to the European market.
On the outside, the Euro-spec Jazz is identified by its single-slat chrome grille, LED daytime running lights, and a black applique for the rear registration plate enclosure. Honda has replaced the older 1.2- and 1.4-liter engines with a 1.3-liter i-VTEC petrol engine capable of 102 PS at 6,000 rpm and 123 Nm of torque.
Paired to this engine is a new 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. With the former, the Jazz is claimed to accelerate to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds and hit a top-speed of 190 km/h. Also, the Jazz is equipped with disc brakes all around, while additional safety features come in the form of ABS, EBD, VSA and Hill Start Assist, not to forget 6 airbags.
As standard fitment, the Jazz will get a City Brake Active System (CTBA), essentially an autonomous braking system that will work under speeds of 32 km/h. Other assistance systems include lane departure warning, high-beam support, collision warning and traffic sign recognition system.
Other noteworthy features on the Jazz for Europe include automatic climate control, keyless entry with engine starter button, and a 7-inch touchscreen Honda Connect infotainment system with pinch, swipe and tap functionality.
