Volvo Auto India will launch the S60 T6, the petrol-powered version of the sedan, on July 3, 2015 in Chennai. The T6 variant of the S60 sedan was previously sold in the country, albeit on the pre-facelift S60.

The S60 T6 now packs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, as against its predecessor’s six-cylinder unit.

Where the pre-facelift S60 T6 was powered by a straight-six 3.0-liter engine, the new S60 T6 will source power from a four-cylinder, direct-injected 2.0-liter engine. On the new S60 T6, this engine makes 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque, whereas the pre-facelift model saw figures of 304 hp and 440 Nm of torque.

The new S60 T6 will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels of the sedan, whereas the previous model came with an AWD system. However, the incoming model promises to be quicker to 100 km/h with the dash taking a mere 5.9 seconds. The top-speed though is rated at 230 km/h.

The closest competitor for the S60 T6 will be the BMW 3 Series 328i, which also relies on a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Where the 328i is assembled in India, the S60, like all other Volvo cars, will be imported through the CBU route.

Nothing exciting! This is boring as you look at the coming XC90. I won’t buy anything less than what has been displayed on the XC90. The interior of this car is already boring and the overall new S60 is coming 2017, rather wait.
