First RenaultSport model built outside Europe.
After much teasing and unofficial renderings, Renault has finally revealed their first ever RenaultSport hatchback developed and manufactured exclusively for the South American market in Argentina today. Based on the popular Renault Sandero, the hot hatchback has been simply dubbed the Renault Sandero R.S 2.0.
Compared to the standard model, the Sandero R.S features sportier deep bumpers with LED DRLs integrated in the front, and an R.S badge underneath the Renault lozenge in the black mesh grille. Coming to the side, the Sandero R.S gets black side mirror caps, extended side sills, and 16-inch black alloy rims wrapped in low-profile tires. For an even sportier appearance, there are optional side body decals. At the rear, it sports smoked taillamps, an integrated roof spoiler, and a dark chrome-finished twin pipe exhaust system.
Like the exterior, the interior of Renault Sandero R.S. is themed around performance. It features exclusive body hugging seats with stripes running across, contrast red stitching for the steering wheel and seats, a MediaNAV infotainment system with a touchscreen display, dynamic instrument cluster, red accents around the cabin and drilled aluminum pedals.
Power is sourced from a 2.0-liter 16v flexi-fuel engine sourced from the local Renault Duster, which delivers 145 hp through a six-speed manual gearbox. It also gets ESC with sports tuning, stiffer suspension setting, and an upgraded braking system with four discs.
