2.8-liter diesel engine makes 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque on the SUV.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Ankit Dehar spotted the Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV testing on the Manesar-Gurgaon highway recently. As reported earlier, the Trailblazer is announced to launch in India in 2015, with reports claiming an introduction in the second half of this calendar year.
For the Indian market, GM India plans on bringing the 2.8-liter diesel variant of the SUV which is capable of 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque, paired to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Later on in the lifecycle, GM could introduce the smaller 2.5-liter variant of the Trailblazer to compete with entry-level variants of the Toyota Fortuner (the Trailblazer's chief rival), Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Endeavour.
The Trailblazer is expected to be a well-specced SUV in the Indian market. On the Trailblazer sold in Philippines, GM offers LED projector headlights with LED daytime running lights and LED taillights, Chevrolet MyLink color touchscreen display with Mobile Connect for iOS and Android, leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels a Camaro-inspired blue LED illuminated cluster, reversing camera and rearview mirror with chromatic LCD monitor, and a dash camera with 32GB memory.
