Technical details will be available on June 13.
Indian Autos Blog is at the media drive event of the 2015 Honda Jazz which is expected to launch in India on July 8, 2015. An embargo restricts us from sharing technical information of the car until June 13, so until then, here’s an in-depth image gallery of the Jazz in its India-specification.
The Jazz will launch with a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine is the 1.2-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder unit borrowed from the Brio and Amaze, while the diesel is the 1.5-liter i-DTEC also seen on other Honda cars in India. The diesel will come exclusively with a manual transmission whereas the petrol gets a manual and a CVT with paddle shifters.
The variant nomenclature is expected to be similar to that of the City, with a report indicating the Jazz will launch in a total of 12 variants. Seen here is the top-end VX MT. Features observed on the outside include alloy wheels, foglights, a rear spoiler, a chrome plated rear registration plate enclosure, a rear wiper and washer, and a reverse camera.
Inside, the Jazz VX MT gets steering mounted controls, a touchscreen AVN (Audio Visual Navigation) system, the City-borrowed touch panel for the automatic climate control, power folding wing mirrors and Honda’s trademark Magic Seat which can be folded, tumbled in a theatre style or even reclined.
