Likely to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Christian Keilhau, snapped the 2016 Mini Clubman on test in Germany recently. Based on the new Mini's UKL front wheel drive architecture, reports state that the BMW-owned marque will debut the production Clubman at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.
The second generation Clubman was previewed though the Mini Clubman concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Where the first generation Clubman had a rather unconventional door setup (one on the left and two on the right), the second generation, like regular estates, will get two doors on either side. Also, the rear doors will sport regular hinges, unlike the suicide opening of the first model.
The Clubman concept at Geneva was 26 cm longer and 17 cm wider than the first gen Clubman, and this is likely to be seen on the production model as well, clearly hinting that boot space and rear legroom will be improved over the R55 Clubman.
