To come in two variants for India.
Volvo Auto India will showcase the all-new XC90 SUV for the first time on May 12, 2015. The company had announced earlier that the second generation XC90 will have its Indian launch by September this year.
The new XC90 for India will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 225 bhp at 4,250 rpm and 470 Nm of torque. The drive will be sent to all wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission, whose gearlever is made of crystal by Swedish specialist Orrefors. Volvo could consider offering the petrol and hybrid T8 variant later in the SUV's lifecycle in India.
For the Indian market, the new XC90 will be available in two variants - Momentum and Inscription. While the former is equipped with keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display and power-folding third row seats, the latter will add an air suspension system, a head-up display, heated and ventilated seats and a 19-speaker B&W music system.
