To be launched by the end of this year.
Suzuki is showcasing the Vitara crossover at this year's Auto Shanghai, and have confirmed that it will be launched in the Chinese market by the end of this year. The car was world premiered at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Drawing influence from the Suzuki iV-4 concept, the front end features a twin-slat silver grille and a matching bumper insert, swept-back headlamps, optional two-tone exterior paintwork, an upward swooping crease line on the doors and LED DRLs in the lower fascia.
Inside, the Vitara gets a familiar Suzuki steering wheel, a fresh dashboard design with exterior color coordinated inserts and a clock mounted between the central HVAC vents. The black centre console houses an infotainment display and HVAC controls.
The Vitara comes with the M16 1.6-liter petrol engine that delivers 120 hp and 156 Nm. The engine is paired to a choice between a five-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the variant, the petrol engine will direct power to a FWD system or an ALLGRIP all-wheel drive system.
The Chinese pricing and variants on offer will be announced closer to its launch.
