Powered by a 1.6-liter engine with e-4WD.
The Ssangyong XAV Concept has premiered at the Seoul Motor Show 2015 today. The "authentic" SUV concept is designed combining tradition and the latest trends. The XAV demonstrates the future direction of Ssangyong's product development.
The 'eXciting Authentic suV' has an aggressive silhouette and the top-hat is designed to provide ample space for passengers who enjoy outdoor activities. The openness can be maximized by opting for a convertible canvas top, the company says.
A throwback to the first generation Korando that was launched in 1996, the XAV's adventure-minded design has a sharply cut pair of headlamps, pronounced fenders, upright windscreen, wraparound rear glass, chiseled flanks and can be had with auxiliary fuel tanks.
The interior has a scalable layout with a variety of configurations possible depending on passengers or luggage on the trip. It is appointed with sport seats, two LCD displays on the dashboard for HVAC and entertainment, and one in place of the instrument cluster, a funky three-spoke steering wheel with controls, aluminium highlights on the seats, dashboard, steering and door cards, and suede leather upholstery.
The SUV's powertrain comprises an e-4WD system powered by lithium-ion batteries. While the motor powers the front axle, the rear wheels are driven by the 1.6-liter gasoline engine, that can offer "powerful performance and superior efficiency at the same time."
Other features on the car include an Electronic air suspension, Smart Motion Control system that can judge the road surface ahead and alter the ride, and Run-flat tires.
