Maruti also plans on launching a diesel variant of the Celerio this month.
Maruti Suzuki plans on introducing a top-end variant on the Celerio later this month. The Celerio ZXi AGS (Automated Gear Shift) will combine the convenience of the automated manual transmission along with additional features like ABS, alloy wheels and airbags.
Launched at the Auto Expo 2014 in February 2014, AMT variants of the Celerio were available only on the base LXi and VXi trims. With customers being aware of safety features such as ABS and airbags, it was only a matter of time before Maruti started offering these features on the AMT variant of the hatchback.
The Celerio is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine capable of 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque. With the Magneti-Marelli made 5-speed AMT gearbox, Maruti claims an efficiency of 23.1 km/l.
The ZXi AMT variant of the Celerio will offer foglights, alloy wheels, body-colored door handles, a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB, CD and AUX-in, 4 speakers, audio controls on the steering wheel, electrically-adjustable wing mirrors, tilt-adjustable steering, rear wiper and washer and a driver-side airbag. On the ZXi Option variant, the Celerio gains a front-passenger airbag and ABS.

However, the big news on the Celerio is the introduction of the diesel variant with Suzuki's first self-developed diesel engine. Reported to be India's most fuel efficient car, the Celerio diesel is expected to launch towards the end of this month, or early next month.
