Haval H6 Coupe will also debut at the show.
Great Wall Motors owned SUV brand, Haval, has teased two concepts that will debut at the Auto Shanghai (which starts for the press on April 20, 2015). Named Concept B and Concept R, these SUV concepts are reported to preview the future design language of the brand.
Based on the teaser image, it is evident that Concept B showcases a brawny yet modern SUV, while Concept R, which gets a honeycomb grille, could lead the way for future sporty, or coupe-shaped SUVs. Both concepts get LED daytime running lights, and are likely to be based on the same platform. Haval is yet to disclose any details on these concepts.
Haval has confirmed though that it will debut the production Haval H6 Coupe at the show. Positioned below the flagship H9, the H6 Coupe is powered by what Haval claims to be a self-developed 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine capable of 194 hp and 315 Nm of torque. Paired to a Getrag 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, the H6 Coupe accelerates from 0-100 km/h in a claimed 9 seconds.
Reports have suggested that Great Wall Motors could be setting up a plant in Pune, India, to initially assemble their range of Haval SUVs. However, the company is yet to announce its Indian entry.
