It's a season of fully-faired motorcycles.
A fully-faired version of the Suzuki Gixxer is closer to its launch as reports suggest that mass production of the faired version of the 155cc bike has begun. The bike was first spied testing late last year and now Bike Portal has shared more photos of the motorcycle that will set out to do what the Honda CBR150R couldn't.
The regular Gixxer, launched last September sports a 155 cc single-cylinder air-cooled carbureted engine which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The power and torque figures stand at 14.8 PS (14.59 bhp) and 14 Nm respectively. Images suggest that the fully-faired version, likely to be a tad heavier than the regular bike, is named the Gixxer SF.
Certain versions of the bike also feature the "Suzuki" name as decals on the side panels of the bike. The SF might be retuned slightly to account for the heavier fairing.
The spied variant features similar front and rear tires as compared to the regular version. The faired bike features full front fairing, right up to the front of the engine. Both the black and the blue bikes that have been spied featuring transparent windshields.
The Suzuki Gixxer competes with the Honda CB Unicorn 160, Honda CBR150, and Yamaha FZ. The fully-faired version will have the Honda CBR150R and even the Yamaha Fazer Version 2.0 in its crosshair.
Reported colours for the Gixxer SF include Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Red and Metallic Grey.
