Now with a 1.3 SkyActiv-G petrol engine paired to a 6-speed auto gearbox.
Mazda Thailand is showcasing the recently added Mazda2 sedan petrol variant at the on-going 2015 Bangkok Motor Show. Based on the Mazda2 hatchback, the petrol variant is available in the local market in three trims - Standard, High and High Plus.
The Mazda2 sedan received its world premiere at the Thailand International Motor Expo last year, but was a diesel-only car. The new sedan sports the company’s latest KODO design language and shares platform with the hatchback. On the inside too, the seats, dashboard and equipment are carried over.
The sedan is powered by a 1.3 SkyActiv-G petrol engine, with an ability to make 93 PS at 5,800 rpm and 123 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission. It comes with an i-Stop automatic start-stop system for enhancing fuel efficiency. The diesel option is the 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D engine having 105 hp in store.
The Mazda2 comes loaded with keyless entry, ignition button, auto air-conditioning, gloss black base, fabric or leather seats with red stripes, a 7-inch touchscreen powered by the MZD Connect infotainment system with 6 speakers, head-up display, 'Commander Control' gear knob, 15- or 16-inch alloys, and aluminium pedals depending on the trim level.
The new sedan is manufactured at the company’s facility in Rayong, Thailand.
