Commercial launch days away.

Pictures from Facebook Page Indian Bikers Arena show a batch of Bajaj Pulsar RS200 bikes, painted red, waiting for shipment to dealers.

The Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS would be launched on the Indian market on March 27, and is the company fully-faired offering. Bajaj has a strong export business, and the company’s distributor in Turkey has pronounced to the local media that the Pulsar 200 RS (formerly Pulsar 200 SS) would be in showrooms in June.

Other colours the motorcycle has been spotted in include Black and dual tone Blue-white.

From the official Bajaj Turkey website we infer that its running gear is shared with the 200 NS. The 199.5 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled triple-spark engine develops 24.4 PS @ 9,500 rpm and 18.6 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rpm. In comparison, the Indian Pulsar 200 NS makes 23.52 PS and 18.3 Nm of torque at the same revs. Power is transferred to the tarmac through the same 6-speed gearbox.

At the measuring tape, the Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS is 2.06 m long, .75 m wide, 1.16 m tall and sports a ground clearance of 165 mm. The bike is mounted with a 12-liter fuel tank and tips the scale at 151 kg. Again, to put that in relation, the 200 NS is mounted with a 14.3-liter tank and weighs 145 kg.

Suspension duties, as with other Pulsars, is sourced to a telescopic system at the front and to a single spring damper at the rear. Even the wheels, which are 100/80 spec at the front and 130/70 spec at the rear on 17-inch rims would be identical to the 200 NS. Stopping power comes from a 280 mm butterfly type disc at the front, and a 230 mm butterfly type disc at the rear, similar to the 200NS. An ABS unit is speculated to be a standard fitment on the 200 RS.
