Update – Live images from Geneva added in a new gallery.
Comes with a 450 km range.
Besides showing the V10-powered R8, Audi has announced that it will have the R8 e-tron and the R8 LMS on display at the Geneva Motor Show which starts later today.
Concurrently, studio photos of the Audi R8 e-tron has emerged on the web, revealing the look of the car for the first time.
Differentiating it from the petrol-powered R8 is a new bonnet with a U-shaped indent, horizontal LED light strips on the front pockets, a split grille, unique wheels, new rear gills, e-tron badge and a new rear bumper with a silver inset.
Labeled as the R8 e-tron 2.0 denoting its evolution, the car boasts of a range of 450 km thanks to a new 92 kWh battery pack, which is in a T-shaped layout, laid into the center tunnel behind the passenger cell.
Audi says a full recharge will take “significantly less than two hours” credit to the on-board Combined Charging System (CCS) which permits charging with DC and AC.
The car gets power from two electric motors that produce a combined 462 hp and 920 Nm, giving the Audi R8 e-tron 2.0 a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.9 seconds and an electronically-restricted top speed of 210 km/h.
Order books for the Audi R8 e-tron 2.0 will open later this year, at which point the price will be announced.
