Would come with a 30 liter larger boot.
Skoda has just announced the pricing of the new 2016 Skoda Superb for the UK, with the rest of the EU set to receive the first stock of cars in mid-2015. Hot on the heels of the notchback will come the estate, or what Skoda calls the Superb Combi variant.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog in Switzerland last week, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland, Chairman of Skoda said -
That (New Skoda Superb Combi) will come for Europe in September, we'll have the press launch in July.
Based on the MQB platform, the new Superb notchback weighs 75 kg less than its predecessor, and the same weight saving will be passed on to the estate as well. The notchback's boot is 30 liters larger than the previous generation model at 625 liters (1,760 liters with the rear seat folded). Applying the same math to the estate, expect the new 2016 Superb Combi to have a boot capacity of about 663 liters (1,895 liters with the rear seat folded).
Engine options for the Superb Combi would naturally mirror the notchback which can be had with four TSI petrol and three TDI diesel units with outputs ranging from 120 PS for the entry diesel 1.6 TDI to 280 PS for the new 2.0 TSI engine.
