Launch expected in 2018.
According to a report on the Business Standard, Tata Motors has started working on a quadricycle codenamed 'Bravo'. The company which took an offensive stance to the whole idea of a quadricycle a couple of years ago, is now keen on entering this segment it seems.
Industry sources told the publication that project Bravo could be based on the Tata Iris's platform, though an all-new petrol engine would be at the helm.
One source closely associated with the development of the quadricycle said that the project is at an early stage and that Tata would send out Request for Quotations in a few months time to vendors. A launch would take place sometime in 2018. A Tata spokesperson said that the company does not comment on future product plans, when asked by the publication.

Quadricycles are yet to hit the roads in India due to a stay order from several high courts across the country. Once given the green light though, Bajaj is expected to be the first manufacturer to roll out quadricycles from its plant in Aurangabad, which has an annual capacity of 60,000 units per annum.
