To be based on the new Triton.
The next generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport hasn't been announced yet, but given that the Triton, which is based on the same platform, got a major update late last year, the new iteration of Pajero Sport cannot be too far. A recent rendering published by HeadlightMag shows how the vehicle could look like.
The side profile doesn't have too many giveaways but the glasshouse has a sleeker shape, while new character lines also appear. A previous rendering showed a 2015 Triton like front-end, which appears the case here, too.

The new Triton also got updated suspension systems, better sound deadening, and increased safety, which would be inherited by the Pajero. Likewise the engine options could include the newly developed 2.4-liter turbo-diesel makes 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque.
Currently in India, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is offered with a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that makes 175.5 hp and 400 Nm of maximum torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are available, and so are 4x2 and 4x4 (available with manual-only) drivetrains.
HeadlightMag expects the new Pajero Sport to launch in Q3 of 2015 in Thailand, without a significant difference in the price.
