Units manufactured on or before July 2014 affected.
The Mahindra XUV500 is being recalled for a software update related to the side curtain airbag. The vehicles manufactured on or before July 2014 are affected by the recall, and Mahindra will update the software free of charge.
Since there's no defective part, there will be no replacements. The company is currently contacting its owners individually. Alternatively, one could check with the nearest service centre or on the 'Service Action' section of the company's website, to find out if their vehicle is affected.
No incidents have been reported, and this is a voluntary recall from the company.
In November last year, the manufacturer issued a recall of about 2,300 vehicles for a defective vacuum pump. The affected models included the Xylo, the Scorpio, and the XUV500.
