Next generation Innova will be launched in India early next year.
The next generation 2016 Toyota Innova was leaked ahead of a debut this year. The second generation of the people carrier has to live up to a lot of expectations thanks to the high standards set by the current generation model.
Designers have started with a clean sheet of paper, though the overall stance and appearance is unmistakable for nothing but an MPV.
The overall shape of the new Innova doesn't break away from its predecessor. However, the differences are in the finer details. For example, the rake of the windshield appears smoother on the new generation 2016 Innova, and as a result, it appears the car is shorter in height than the current generation model.
The front and second-row windows, including the front quarter glass ones, seem lifted from the current Innova, whereas the last row windows feature an unconventional V-shape design. Similarly, the side of the new Innova is relatively straight forward, with a simple design crease running until the taillight.
Up front, the grille is streamlined with the headlight clusters, which themselves feature a wider design inspired by new generation Toyotas like the new Corolla. Spyshots have shown that the headlight clusters will get integrated LED daytime running lights (LED position lights as Toyota calls them on the new Corolla).
This story will be updated once images of the rear and interior are available.
