The Dzire's engines could be tuned for better economy.
A test mule of the refreshed Maruti Dzire was caught on test by Gaadi Waadi recently. Having facelifted the Swift hatchback in the last quarter of last year, Maruti plans to launch the updated Dzire in the first quarter of this year (this financial year).
A new grille (likely to be a chrome grille) and a redesigned front bumper with chrome enclosures for the foglights (in the top-end variant) will adorn the front fascia of the 2015 Dzire. A previous spyshot showed that certain variants could also offer smoked headlight clusters and a new body color.
Changes in the side profile are reserved to new multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the rear could see a new chrome strip and a mildly updated bumper.
Inside, expect the Dzire facelift to sport new features like power folding wing mirrors, a Bluetooth-enabled music system and keyless entry with push button start. These features were seen on the refreshed Swift as well.
And like the Swift, engineers could tweak the 1.2-liter petrol engine and the 1.3-liter diesel to extract more fuel economy (roughly 10 percent more).

Despite being the oldest car in its class, the Dzire continues to rake in solid numbers for Maruti. Many a time, it is Maruti's best selling product, outselling the entry-level Alto as well. Average monthly sales of the Dzire accounted for 17,518 units per month last year.
