Visible changes on the outside include a new soft top.
An updated Mahindra Thar appears to have reached a dealership already, going by pictures published on TeamBHP. While a Thar with camouflaged body sections was spotted camouflaged earlier this month, it is yet to be determined if the vehicle in these images is of the same version.
The pictures suggest a new-look soft top, which is slightly angled at the rear in comparison to the one on the outgoing model. The side step is painted black, which used to be silver. Inside, silver inserts are spotted on the dashboard panel.
At present, the Thar is available with two engine options, both of which are mated to a 5-speed gearbox: a 2.5-litre DI unit that produces 63 hp and 182.5 Nm of torque, and a 2.5-litre CRDe engine that makes 105 hp and 247 Nm of torque. Both 2WD (rear-wheel drive) and 4WD versions are available.

In terms of dimensions, the current vehicle measures 3,920 mm in length, 1,710 mm in width, and 1,930 mm in height, and the wheelbase is 2,430 mm long. Its widely accepted off-road abilities are accentuated by a 200 mm ground clearance, an approach angle of 46 degrees, and a departure angle of 30 degrees. But unlike the Force Gurkha, the Thar doesn't get locking differentials.
