Is more powerful and lighter.
Ford has showcased the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor that will be launched in the USA in fall of 2016 (Sept - Dec 2016).
Captioned as the "ultimate high-performance off-road pickup," the pickup has a prominent mesh grille integrated with marking lights and Ford lettering. A rugged front bumper, LED headlamps and a silver skid plate round up the front fascia.
Moving towards the rear, one cannot but notice the ventilated front fenders, extended fender flares and 17-inch wheels wrapped with BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires. The tailgate and exhaust system have been specially designed for this variant.
The cabin is mostly stock with features like steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and an auxiliary control panel for accessories such as lights and air compressor.
Ford did not provide specific details on the powertrain but said it would use the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine which would produce more than 411 bhp and 587 Nm of torque. It would pair to a newly developed 10-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system with a torque-on-demand transfer case. The truck can be fitted with an optional Torsen differential.
