Expected to be unveiled in June 2015.
The second generation BMW X1, codenamed F48, is expected to be unveiled globally in June this year while an India launch is likely to happen before 2016. Here's a rendering of the car by Auto-Moto.
Also spied recently, the front fascia sports a completely redesigned bumper and new headlamps. What must be noted here is that unlike the larger vehicles in the X line up, the headlamps aren't joined to the kidney grille.
It's said to get an interior similar to that of the 2 Series Active Tourer, but given that it could be smaller than the outgoing model, there aren't huge expectations of it being any more spacious. BMW are however testing a 5+2 seat version, which could make it the one for customers seeking more space.

The powertrain lineup, besides engines and displacements identical to the current version, is expected to include the new 1.5-litre three cylinder engines, in both petrol and diesel, as on the 2016 1 Series.
