Could rival the Vespa in India.
Recently Yamaha's premium commuter scooter offering the Yamaha D'elight was spotted testing on Indian roads.
The D'elight is an urban commuter currently sold in the European markets as a competitor to Vespa's retro styled scooters. The classic lines of the scooter and its low seat hight certainly earns it a top spot with the fashionistas. With its small wheelbase, it is an ideal commuter tool for riding in our traffic congested city roads.
The scooter weighs in at a feathery 98 kg making it quite nimble for city use, while packing a 114 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces a respectable 7.2 PS of power and 7.6 Nm of torque.
The lightweight and decent power gives the D'elite a respectable 73 bhp per ton power to weight ratio, which would make it quite zippy in city traffic and on power with the bigger scooters like Honda's Activa when it comes to acceleration.

The D'elight is still under testing, which means that there is no nearby launch date for the scooter. If Yamaha decides to launch it, expect a price of about Rs 70,000, ex-Showroom.
