Modified Tata Safari Storme showcased – IAB Report

Accessorized for off-road application.

A modified Tata Safari Storme was showcased by Tata Motors recently. Painted in a flashy yellow, the SUV is accessorized to enhance its off-road capability.

Upfront, the spruced up Safari Storme is equipped with a bumper guard which houses twin spot lights, a chrome accented bug deflector, a plastic bonnet air scoop, sump-guard, LED DRL strips and roof-mounted spot lights.

In profile, the car gets prominent lower body black plastic cladding and chrome finished wing mirrors with integrated turn signals. Other accessories include off-road tyres, window visors, plastic door handles and foot boards.

A rear tow hitch completes the customization. Save for the black fabric upholstery the interior pretty much continues in stock condition.

The Safari Storme is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine which pumps out 140 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed manual unit. Both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations are available.

Tata is working on a mild refresh for the SUV which is expected to be launched sometime next year.ย  The power output of the engine would be increased to around 150 PS and it could be available with an option of an automatic transmission.

    Planned to buy Safari Storme EX but now waiting for the Facelift version. Hopefully TATA guys launch it asap.. not like the last time !!!

    Bring 4×4 automatic with good audio system ,a good navigator system,reverse parking camera,middle row with captain seats.
    And some fascinating colors. Push button start. Price below Rs.15 lakh. On Road Price. Then see the sales figures.

      3. I believe there is a lot riding on the facelifted Storme that’s coming next year.

        Yes right.. A harmon Kardon sysytem is being fitted in,central captain seats,150 ps updated engine n improved interiors..

        Yeap this might be a limited edition sale for this version. Or may be add up as a variatn along with upcoming facelift version with much refined interiors and increased power

      6. True. I don’t think the power has ever been a problem. The issue is with the features. Tata Motors has to bring something disruptive into this segment. I see the XUV500 Hybrid, currently under development, doing just that.
