The new SUV is reported to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015, and could be based on the Nissan Qashqai's platform. It will be priced and positioned between the Captur compact crossover and the Koleos SUV.
The new Nissan Qashqai is based on the modular CMF architecture, one that has been jointly developed by Renault and Nissan. Like the Qashqai, the Renault SUV will measure about 4.3-4.4 meters in length, and will be a 5-seat crossover.
Details are still sketchy at this time, but Renault could use the same set of four-cylinder engines that power the Qashqai. These range from a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol, a 1.5-liter diesel and a 1.6-liter diesel engine, and include 6-speed manual and CVT automatic units with 2WD and 4WD.
