Rising input costs to blame.
Nissan India has announced that it will increase the prices of its products as well as that of Datsun from January next year by 2.5 percent and 3 percent respectively. While the cost of Nissan cars will go up by Rs. 18,000 the prices of Datsun cars will increase by Rs. 11,000.
Arun Malhotra, MD, NMIPL (Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd.) attributed the price increase to rising input costs. Nissan’s range in India includes products such as Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia and Terrano, while Datsun offers just a single car, Datsun Go.
