Accounts for nearly 30 percent of domestic sales.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced its sales figures for November 2014, which saw a 6 percent rise in domestic volumes. Compared to November 2013 where HMIL sold 33,501 units, last month saw sales of 35,511 units.
Roughly 1 in 3 cars sold by HMIL last month was the newly launched Elite i20. Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, that the Elite i20 sold 10,500 units last month, its best ever sales figure since launch. Mr. Srivastava also said that the Elite i20 is now the top seller for the company, surpassing more affordable and smaller models like the Grand i10 and Eon.
The Elite i20 is available with a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine is a 1.2-liter Kappa matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the diesel is a 1.4-liter CRDi paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. For now, HMIL doesn't offer an automatic gearbox on the Elite.

HMIL exported 18,500 cars last month, an increase of 14.3 percent as compared to November 2013 which saw exports of 16,180 units.
