BMW 1 Series facelift to debut next month in Detroit – Report

Will see styling changes at the front.
BMW’s 1 Series is the smallest conventional hatchback the German car maker makes at the moment, and while it ticks all the right boxes for driving fun, the design certainly has scope for improvement. The front end, which is the cause of concern for most, is about to undergo a design update, a report mentions.
Come 2015 Detroit Auto Show and BMW will showcase the facelifted 1 Series with an updated front end (from the 2 Series) which will include new headlamps, grille, and larger air intakes. At the rear the changes will continue with a new taillamp design and a new bumper, says Autocar.
On the inside, the hatchback will also get the latest version of iDrive (BMW’s infotainment system), and a possibly updated centre console as well. Engine options will remain the same while small revisions to power, economy, and emissions could be made.
It will go on sale next year, after making a debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (Detroit Auto Show), while an Indian arrival should be expected towards the end of the year.
