Expected to arrive in India early next year.
Earlier this year, Mercedes Benz introduced the updated CLS in Europe, but the car is yet to come to India.
Showcased at the 2014 Thailand International Motor Expo is the same car, which features a few design nip and tucks, a refreshed (but not new) interior, and a 9-speed gearbox.
Showcased in the Mercedes CLS 250 avatar, the car sports a front that now resembles the rest of the range. The Multibeam LED headlamp, the diamond grille from the A-Class, and a more muscular looking bumper with huge airdams give the CLS a much-needed refreshment. On the inside, it gets small updates like the new steering wheel and an 8-inch screen. The overall dashboard layout remains unchanged, and similar to previous generation Mercs.
Mechanically the car now gets the 9G-Tronic, the 9-speed automatic transmission, and the engines, which includes a four-cylinder engine diesel, a V6 diesel, and a V6 petrol, get a slight bump in power. The range is topped by the 5.5-litre V8 biturbo petrol engine in the CLS 63 AMG. The show car, the four-cylinder CLS 250, makes a maximum power of 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
