Launch expected this financial year.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Tharun Rejeev, snapped these images of the Mahindra Quanto AMT on test. Mahindra showcased the Quanto AMT at the Auto Expo this year, and plans to launch the car by the end of this financial year, as told to Indian Autos Blog by Pravin Shah, Chief Executive – Automotive Division & International Operations.
The test mule here wears a new body color (same as the Auto Expo showcase car), and has a camouflage on its front door where the 'autoshift' badging was present on the Auto Expo display car. Apart from these cosmetic changes, Mahindra is likely to introduce a new steering wheel on the Quanto AMT (seen in spyshot).
The Quanto AMT uses a 5-speed transmission jointly developed by Mahindra and U.K.-based Ricardo. The system uses an "advanced" ECU and promises to offer snappier gear changes thanks to a hydraulic actuation system, said Mahindra.
Mahindra also said that the Quanto AMT showcased at the Expo featured regenerative braking, which the company claimed could save 40 liters of fuel per annum.

Expected Price: INR 7.8-8.2 lakhs, ex-Showroom
Launch date: By end of this financial year
