The Supernaked is a more expensive alternative to the Z250.
At the EICMA 2014, Kawasaki has introduced six new models, and the new Z300 is the latest addition to the Green Family. The motorcycle will be positioned as an entry-level model in Europe and as a larger-displacement alternative to the Kawasaki Z250 in Thailand, says the company.
Power for the Z300 comes from a fuel-injected, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled 296 cc engine which pushes out 39 PS (38.45 bhp) at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm, paired to a 6-speed transmission.
The bike is based on a tube diamond steel frame and gets 37 mm telescopic forks at the front and a Bottom-Link Uni-Trak with gas-charged shocks and adjustable preload for the rear. The new Z300 has its measurements at 2,015 mm length, 750 mm width, 1,025 mm height and 1,405 mm wheelbase.
The bike has a ground clearance of 145 mm, weighs 168 kg (170 kg with ABS) and features a 17 litre fuel tank. While ABS is optional, the Z300 comes standard with a 290 mm petal disc at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear.
Kawasaki have announced two colors for the Z300: Candy Flat Blazed Green with Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Raw Graystone with Metallic Flat Spark Black.
