Slots between the Focus and Fusion.
The 2015 Ford Escort, the production version of which debuted at Beijing Auto Show earlier this year, has been launched in China at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2014.
The sedan was designed in Australia and will be built in China by the Changan-Ford JV. To be positioned between the Focus and Mondeo, the Escort complies with the automaker's latest global design language which involves the Aston Martin-like grille and sleek headlamps.
The well proportioned sedan sports a dual-tone black-beige interior which also sports a familiar modern Ford design. To keep costs in check, Ford has given the Escort an ordinary audio system with Bluetooth connectivity as a standard option instead of a full-fledged multimedia infotainment system.
Powering the new Escort is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine which puts out 112 bhp and 140 Nm of torque. The motor is available either with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. On the safety front, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP are offered as standard fitments.
More details are available in the Beijing Auto Show press release that is attached below the gallery.
