The 2015 BMW M3 has been launched in India today at INR 1.198 cr (ex-showroom pan-India). The performance sedan is imported as a CBU.
Based on the current gen 3 Series, the M3 sports aggressive ensembles to differentiate itself from the civilized variants. Notable elements include M kidney grille with the performance badge, flared wheel arches, air curtains and M gills on the front wings, integrated rear spoiler and diffuser.
The car features a carbon fibre roof which results in lower weight and centre of gravity. The interior of the new M3 is full of sporty elements like M branded sports seats, door sills, footrest, gearshift lever and circular dials.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. The M engine puts out a energetic 431 PS (424.9 bhp) and 550 Nm of torque. BMW says that a significant proportion of that power is available at lower engine speeds. The motor propels the M3 from 0-100 km in a scant 4.1 seconds en route to its electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Driving the rear wheels is a 7-speed M dual-clutch transmission with Dualogic. The car is packed with EfficientDynamics measures such as an electric power steering, brake energy recuperation, 50:50 weight distribution, Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Auto Start/Stop, etc.
The 2015 M3 is also packed with the ConnectedDrive suite which offers a wide range of multimedia infotainment functions. Other features include multiple airbags, ABS, Active M Differential and Dynamic Stability Control.
